7/16/2018 5:01:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation and the Boeheim's Army TBT team took part in the grand re-opening and dedication of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse's Shonnard Street Club Gym as the Eaton Crouse Hinds Division Gymnasium on Monday.
The Eaton Crouse-Hinds Charitable Fund actively supports programs that improve the quality of life in communities in which they operate, and has been a champion of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse for several years. The Eaton Crouse Hinds Division Gym at the Shonnard Street Club will offer youth & teens the opportunity to participate in healthy lifestyles and recreational programs; such as Triple Play: Mind, Body and Soul. The goal of Triple Play is to improve Club members' knowledge of healthy habits, good nutrition and physical fitness; increase the number of hours per day they participate in physical activities; and strengthen their ability to interact positively with others and engage in healthy relationships.
Â
"Eaton Crouse-Hinds has a long standing relationship with both the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse and the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation. We take great pride in supporting the local communities in which we work and live and share the optimistic vision that both of these dedicated organizations work to accomplish," said Scott Hearn, president, Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Division.
Â
"We were excited to award the Eaton Fund donation to support the Boys & Girls Club Shonnard Street Gym remodel. We could not think of a more deserving project and look forward to seeing the positive impact that it has on the lives of the local children that will benefit from it."
Â
Coach Jim & Juli Boeheim, along with Boeheim's Army, will be on hand to help with the grand re-opening and gym dedication.
Â
"The Boeheim Foundation is thrilled to support the great work being done by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse," said Jim Boeheim. "The generosity of the Eaton Crouse-Hinds Charitable Fund has made the Shonnard Street Gym Dedication possible. Juli and I look forward to being on hand for the event."
Â
"We are extremely appreciative of the Eaton Crouse-Hinds Charitable Fund for their long-standing dedication towards the youth we serve in the city of Syracuse," said Patrick Driscoll, executive director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse. "This generous contribution to our Shonnard Street Club will allow for our youth and teens to benefit from a positive experience."
