SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University Athletics will host "Faith and Family Day" at the Carrier Dome on Oct. 27 when the Orange football team hosts NC State.
Â
"Faith and Family Day" is a partnership between the University's Hendricks Chapel and Syracuse Athletics. The event will feature a pre-game gathering in Hendricks Chapel, followed by activities on the Quad, and special seating for the game. The Hendricks Chapel choir will sing the national anthem, all will enjoy several in-game activities, and participants will be invited to partake in a post-game, on-field photo, and have the opportunity to interact with Syracuse student-athletes who are members of faith-based groups.
Â
"We at Hendricks Chapel are incredibly excited to partner with the Department of Athletics on this new and exciting opportunity," said Rev. Dr. Brian E. Konkol, the dean of Hendricks Chapel. "We expect a significant turnout, as the inaugural Faith and Family Day will unite our diverse and dynamic faith communities under the Dome, and in doing so, will provide an assortment of families with an entertaining and meaningful game-day experience.
Â
"In addition to the various programs that will take place in and around the chapel before and after the game, I look forward to cheering on the Orange and growing this event far into the future."
Â
A discounted ticket will be offered in advance with seating in the lower portion of the West end zone and be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Â
Tickets can be purchased by contacting Marina Agacinski (315-443-6660/mragacin@syr.edu) – and mentioning "Faith and Family Day."Â
Â
