SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seven former members of the Syracuse football program, including Jacksonville head coach Doug Marrone, took the field during Week 3 of the 2018 NFL season.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin made his first professional start and Denver Broncos safety Sharmarko Thomas recorded a tackle in his season debut. Arizona Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones continued to wreak havoc, notching another sack to become the fastest player in franchise history to reach 30 sacks.Â

Here's a quick recap of how Syracuse football alums fared in the third week of the season:
Justin Pugh, OL, Arizona Cardinals
- Started at right guard for the third consecutive week in Arizona's loss to Chicago.

Chandler Jones, DE, Arizona Cardinals
- Started at defensive end and recorded four tackles, including one sack, and a pass deflection against Chicago.
- Became the fastest player in Cardinals' franchise history to reach 30 sacks (35 games).
Cameron Lynch, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Appeared on special teams in Tampa Bay's loss at home against Pittsburgh Monday night.
Zaire Franklin, LB, Indianapolis ColtsÂ
- Made his first career start at linebacker in the Colts' loss to Philadelphia and recorded two tackles, including one on special teams.
Shamarko Thomas, S, Denver Broncos
- Made his Broncos debut in a loss to Baltimore and recorded one tackle.

Riley Dixon, P, New York Giants
- Punted four times for 198 yards with a 38.3 net average and a long boot of 53 yards in the Giants' win at Houston.

Doug Marrone, Head Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars
 - Has the Jaguars off to a 2-1 start following a 9-6 loss to the Tennessee Titans Sunday.
