SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The New York Giants resigned former Syracuse wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo to their practice squad yesterday. The move came after New York waived receiver Kaelin Clay and promoted tight end Garrett Dickerson to the 53-man roster, leaving an opening on the practice squad.
Â
Etta-Tawo joined the Giants in December 2017 and was a member of the team's 2018 training camp roster. He's also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs during his pro career.
Â
A graduate transfer from the University of Maryland in 2016, Etta-Tawo rewrote the Syracuse receiving record book in his one year with the Orange. He set or tied 10 school records, including the Syracuse single-season marks for most receiving yards (1,482) and most receiving yards per game (123.5). Etta-Tawo matched the Orange season standard with 14 touchdown receptions, including a program-record five against Pitt.
Â
After the season, Etta-Tawo earned unanimous All-ACC First Team honors and was named to four All-America teams.
Â
The Giants are 1-2 on the season and host New Orleans this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
