SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse puts its two-game winning streak on the line when it hosts Miami on Thursday, Jan. 24 in the Carrier Dome. Tip time is set for 8 p.m.

BATTLE MOVING ON UP
With a game-high 22 points against Pittsburgh, junior Tyus Battle increased his career point total to 1,425. He now ranks 30th on Syracuse's all-time scoring list. Battle needs 113 points to break into the top 20.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is coming off a 74-63 win against longtime rival Pittsburgh last Saturday. The Orange led the entire second half as they are now 13-5 overall, including a 4-1 mark in the ACC.

In the win, Battle led the offense with 22 points, marking the ninth time this season that he has scored more than 20 points in a game. Battle was named ACC Player of the Week for the third time this season for his performances against Duke and the Panthers.

Freshman Buddy Boeheim also had a big night, scoring 13 points and shooting 4-for-5 from the three. Senior Frank Howard and sophomore Marek Dolezaj had five assists each in the victory.

SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami lost to No. 13 North Carolina, 85-76, in its last game. The Hurricanes enter Thursday's game with a 9-8 record, including 1-4 in ACC play. Miami is 0-3 on the road this season.

The Hurricanes have five players that average double-digit points per game. Chris Lykes leads the team with 18.1 points per game, followed by Zach Johnson (13.9) Anthony Lawrence (12.4), Ebuka Izundu (11.8), and DJ Vasiljevic (11.6). Lykes also leads the team in assists with 3.7 per game, while Izundu is Miami's top rebounder, pulling down 9.4 per game.

Jim Larraaga is in his seventh year as head coach for the Hurricanes. Miami is 161-79 in that time period.

THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series against Miami, 18-8. Last year the two teams faced off at the Watsco Center where Syracuse posted a 62-55 victory. Howard led the team with 18 points and six assists. Oshae Brissett, Battle, and Dolezaj all scored in the double digits.
