
Harris, Soerlie Named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Syracuse University student-athletes Stephanie Harris (field hockey) and Severin Soerlie (men's soccer) are the Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 21.

Harris, a senior and native of South Riding, Virginia, is majoring in biology with a minor in psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was twice named to the Zap Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Harris has made the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Honor Roll three times and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in all six of her semesters on campus.

A midfielder, Harris recorded an assist at Colgate and has appeared in eight matches this season for the Orange.

Soerlie, a senior from Filtvet, Norway, is majoring in economics in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He transferred to Syracuse after his redshirt sophomore season at Gardner-Webb University and was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll during the 2018 fall semester, as well as the ACC Academic Honor Roll for 2018-19.

A forward, Soerlie scored his first goal of the season in a 3-2 win against Cornell and has played in 12 matches for Syracuse in the 2019 campaign.

Harris and Syracuse field hockey (9-5, 1-3 ACC) face ACC foe #20 Wake Forest at JS Coyne Stadium on Friday, Oct. 27 for Student Appreciation Night. The action is available for stream on ACC Network Extra starting at 7 p.m.

Soerlie and men's soccer (5-4-4, 1-3-2 ACC ) host NC State on Saturday, Oct. 26 at SU Soccer Stadium for a Senior Day celebration. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
