CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- No. 10 seed Syracuse takes on No. 2 seed and fourth-ranked Virginia in the quarterfinals of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament on Sunday, Nov.10 in Charlottesville. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse advanced to the quarterfinals after winning a penalty kick shootout at North Carolina on Tuesday. The teams played to a 0-0 draw before the Orange won the shootout, 5-3. Syracuse enters Sunday's match with a 7-5-5 record.

ORANGE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
Syracuse is the No. 10 seed in the ACC Tournament after posting a 2-4-2 record in league play. The Orange are making their sixth appearance in the ACC Tournament since joining the league in 2013. The 'Cuse has an all-time record of 5-2-4 in the league tournament.

The Orange are making their first appearance in the ACC Tournament since 2016. Syracuse won its only ACC Tournament title in 2015.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Virginia enters Sunday's match with a 14-1-1 record. The Cavaliers are the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament after winning the Coastal Division. Virginia was picked No. 2 in the NCAA selection committee's top 16 released last Friday.

Sophomore Daryl Dike leads Virginia in every offensive category. He has played in 15 matches and has recorded 20 points on seven goals and six assists. Junior Irakoze Donasiyano also has reached double figures in points with 11 (4g, 3a). Colin Shutler has played every minute in goal for the Cavaliers. He has a 0.896 save percentage and a 0.31 goals-against average.

George Gelnovatch is in his 24th season as head coach at Virginia. He has led the Cavaliers to a pair of national championships (2009, 2014) as well as five College Cup appearances.

THE SERIES
The Orange and Cavaliers will meet for the fifth time. Virginia holds a slight advantage in the all-time series, 2-1-1. Sunday's match will be the first between the two teams in the ACC Tournament.

Syracuse and Virginia have played each other the last two years during the regular season. In 2017, the Orange visited Charlottesville for the first time and came away with a 2-2 draw. Last season, the Cavaliers recorded a 2-0 win at the SU Soccer Stadium. Kennedy Nwabia and Nathaniel Crofts both scored for UVa and Colin Shutler made five saves.
