Goode Starts ACC Championships with 7th in the Pentathlon

In the first pentathlon of her career, Aviana Goode scored at the ACC Championships, getting the Orange on the board at day one of the event.
Goode, who posted a career-best in the high jump, finished seventh overall and garnered two points for the Orange women. In the process Goode became the first Orange competitor to score in a multi-event since the team joined the ACC.
The junior started the event with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, racing to a time of 8.68 seconds. Eventual winner Michelle Atherley earned the race win in a time of 8.26 seconds.
Goode then took third in the high jump, clearing 1.73 meters. Her previous career-best was 1.71 meters.
After an 11th-place finish in the shot put, Goode leapt to a mark of 5.73 meters in the long jump to take third.
She finished the event with a time of 2:32.44 in the 800.
With 3671 points, Goode finished seventh overall. A full slate of Orange competition begins on Friday at 11 a.m.
