THE GAME
- Syracuse welcomes its second-straight top-15 opponent in No. 15 Army West Point on Sunday.
- The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra with Drew Carter and Ryan Powell on the call. Brian Higgins and Kyle Fetterly will call the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.
GAME INFO
- Sunday is Military Appreciation Day in the Dome.
- Active duty military and military veterans get $2 tickets with military ID (limit four per ID) at the Dome on Sunday.
- The contest will also be the second of a double-header as the Orange women's team faces Northwestern at Noon. Fans who arrive before halftime can stay through the men's game for free.
THE ARMY SERIES
- Syracuse and Army have squared off 65 times in program history, the third most of any opponent Syracuse has ever faced, trailing just Hobart and Cornell (104 meetings, each).
- The Black Knights control the series with a 40-25 edge, however recent history has been on Syracuse's side, with the Orange winning 20 of the last 23 meetings.
- Last season, 'Cuse came back from a 7-2 3rd quarter deficit to beat the Black Knights 11-10 in triple overtime. Ryan Simmons player hero for the Orange with the game winning goal in the extra period. Nate Solomon led the way for Syracuse with two goals, while Army's Conor Glancy had a hat trick.
AGAINST THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
- Syracuse is 111-78-2 all-time against the ten current members of the Patriot League. The Orange play Army, Navy and Colgate, who are all members of the Patriot League in 2019.
- 'Cuse boasts a 48-11-1 mark against Colgate, 25-40 record against Army, 8-19-1 record vs. Navy, 8-0 record vs. Bucknell, 3-2 record against Lehigh and a 19-5 record against Loyola (Md.). Syracuse has not played Boston University, Holy Cross, or Lafayette to date.
SOLOMON'S GOING STREAKING
- Senior attackman Nate Solomon enters Sunday's game having registered a point in 19-straight games, dating back to the Colgate game of 2017.
- Solomon's point streak is the second-longest in the ACC, behind Virginia's Michael Kraus' 36-game streak, and ranks 13th nationally.
- Should Solomon reach 20 games, he'll be the first Syracuse player to reach the 20-game mark with a point streak since Dylan Donahue went 55 games from 2013-2016. Loyola's Pat Spencer - who has scored a point in all-53 games of his career - is the nation's current active leader.
A WIN AGAINST ARMY WOULD...
- Be the program's 905th victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
- Improve SU's record to 59-22 since the start of the 2014 season
- Give John Desko his 246th career coaching win, fitih among active Division I coaches and 23rd all-time at the NCAA Division I level.
- Make the Orange 26-40 all-time against the Black Knights
-Give the Orange a winning record in the month of February for the 30th-straight season, every year the Orange have begun playing in the month. 'Cuse has never finished below .500 in February, staring 1-1 in 2007 as the worst winning percentage in the time.
