
Battle Earns All-District Honors

ST. LOUIS -- Junior Tyus Battle has added another honor to his resume as he was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District II Team on Tuesday, Mar. 12. The teams were selected based on a voting from its 900-plus national membership.

Battle leads the Orange and ranks sixth in the ACC in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game. He's posted double digits in points in 27 games this season, which includes 14 20-point and two 30-point performances. Battle also leads the team in minutes (36.3 mpg.) and ranks second in assists (77).

The Edison, N.J. native has scored 1,631 points in 102 career games. That total ranks 16th on Syracuse's all-time scoring list.

Battle and the Orange open ACC Tournament play on Wednesday, March 13 at 9 p.m. Syracuse will take on the winner of the first-round contest between Boston College and Pittsburgh.
