GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today its slate of season-opening conference games that will tipoff the 2019-20 basketball season, including a pairing of Virginia at Syracuse on Nov. 6, 2019. The two-day opening schedule will be broadcast on ACC Network (ACCN), ESPN2 and ESPNU.
"Next year begins our move to a 20-game conference schedule, and to be able to open the season with a round of conference games makes it truly unique," said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. "We believe it will be a great way to tipoff another outstanding season of ACC basketball for our coaches, student-athletes and fans. In addition, we're pleased to have a terrific partner in ESPN to televise these games on the new ACC Network and its other channels."
In a press conference today at the 2019 New York Life ACC Tournament, ESPN announced four games will be broadcast on the ACC Network, the new 24/7 national platform that launches on August 22, 2019. The exclusive early-season basketball broadcasts include: Louisville at Miami and Georgia Tech at NC State (Nov. 5); Notre Dame at North Carolina and Virginia at Syracuse (Nov. 6).
Three additional conference games will be aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU including Virginia Tech at Clemson (November 5), Wake Forest at Boston College (Nov. 6), and Florida State at Pitt (Nov. 6).
As was previously released by ESPN, Duke is set to compete in the State Farm Champions Classic (Nov. 5), which will be aired on ESPN.
All seven conference game times will be determined at a later date.
