Boeheim Foundation Holds 20th Gala

More than $600,000 was raised at the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation Basket Ball Gala last Saturday in Verona, N.Y. The event was the 20th annual "Ball," and featured entertainment from singer Vanessa Williams and ESPN personality Sean McDonough, each a Syracuse alumnus.
The evening included both "live" and "silent" auctions. Donations bolster the mission of the Boeheim Foundation, which is to enrich the lives of kids in need within the Central New York community, as well as provide support for eliminating cancer through research and advocacy.
The Kelly Seubert MVP Award, named for the long-time administrator in the men's basketball office who lost her battle with cancer, was presented to Joe Quinn and Gail Page, owners of Quinn-Page Design. The company created the Boeheim Foundation logo in 2009 and has provided design services for the past 10 years.
Members of the Syracuse men's basketball team, as well as associate head coach Adrian Autry and assistant coach Gerry McNamara, were in attendance. James and Peggy Carrick, each a member of the Boeheim Foundation Board, served as event co-chairs.
