GREENSBORO, N.C. – Paige Stoner is heading into the conference championships on a high note.
The senior star was named ACC Women's Performer of the Week after her school record-breaking and nationally-ranked time of 15:28.47 in the 5,000-meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, California.
The Pottsville, Pennsylvania, native's performance topped her own school record by more than 15 seconds. She now also owns a top-10 time nationally in three different events – 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000-meter run, 10,000-meter run – this season.
The weekly honor is the second of the season for Stoner. She was also recognized as ACC Women's Performer of the Week on April 3.
Stoner and the rest of the Syracuse track & field program now turn their attention to the 2019 ACC Track & Field Championships. The competition begins Thursday, May 9, and concludes Friday, May 11, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
