Orange Top Hofstra in Exhibition Match

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse sophomore Ryan Raposo recorded three assists to lead the Orange to a 4-2 victory against Hofstra in a closed scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Hofstra started the scoring with a penalty kick by Jack Nuttall, but Syracuse tied the score on a goal by junior Simon Triantafillou. The Orange took the lead for good on senior Severin Soerlie's goal off a header and then extended their advantage on a goal by freshman Brian Hawkins. Raposo recorded assists on all three Syracuse tallies.
Nuttall converted another penalty kick to get the Pride within one, but sophomore Hilli Goldhar scored on a pass from senior Matt Orr for the 4-2 final.
The Orange will play their final exhibition match on Saturday at Penn State at 7 p.m. before opening the 2019 season on Friday, Aug. 30 at Georgetown at 4 p.m.
