
Jimerson Leads Haudenosaunee to 10th Place at U19 World Championship

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario -- Syracuse rising sophomore Jalyn Jimerson scored five goals to lead the Haudenosaunee in its 8-7 loss to Puerto Rico at the U19 World Championship in Peterborough, Ontario. The Haudenosaunee finish in 10th place at the event.
Puerto Rico led 6-2 before Jimerson scored three goals in a 4-0 Haudenosaunee scoring run that evened the score. After Puerto Rico recorded back-to-back goals to push the lead to two, the Haudenosaunee found the back of the net with 15 seconds remaining for the 8-7 final.
Jimerson had five goals and an assist in the game. She finished the tournament with 39 points (26g, 13a), which currently ranks as the third-highest total for any player in the tournament with five games remaining on Saturday.
One of those five games is the gold medal match between the U.S. and Canada at 3 p.m. The final will feature rising sophomore Megan Carney for Team USA and incoming freshman Bianca Chevarie for Canada. Fans can watch the game on Lax Sports Network and the Olympic Channel.
