
Webb, Hackett Named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Syracuse University student-athletes Aaron Hackett (football) and Claire Webb (field hockey) are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 16.
Hackett, a junior from Venice, Fla., is a sport management major in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The tight end has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in three of his four semesters on campus and is a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Honor Roll Selection. Hackett has been a valuable contributor for the Orange on special teams and has caught eight passes for 74 yards, including a touchdown at Pittsburgh in 2018.
Webb, a senior and native of Exton, Pa., is majoring in biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Webb has twice been named to the ACC Academic Field Hockey team. In four seasons, Webb has been a pivotal part of Syracuse's defense appearing in 57 games. She has also added a goal and six assists.
This is the first Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors for both Hackett and Webb.
Hackett and the Syracuse football team return to action at the Dome this weekend as they host Mid-American Conference opponent Western Michigan for Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network.
Webb and the field hockey squad open up conference play when they host #6 Virginia Friday, Sep. 20 at 4:30 p.m. at J.S Coyne Stadium. Admission and parking to the game is free. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
