
Cohen, Racine Named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Ady Cohen (ice hockey) and Jalen Racine (track and field) are the Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 20.

A senior from Mount Dora, Fla., Cohen is a forensic science and psychology double major in the College of Arts and Sciences. She's earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for every semester between fall 2016 and spring 2019, and also earned a spot on the 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 college Hockey America All-Academic teams. Athletically, Cohen has played 1,479 minutes in goal for Syracuse, recording nine wins in 23 starts. She was in goal when Syracuse defeated Robert Morris on March 8, 2019 to claim the program's first ever CHA title. Cohen is also a member of the Esports at Syracuse University club, and is a research assistant for the ADHD Lifespan Treatment, Education, and Research (ALTER) Psychology Lab.

Racine, a native of Piscataway, N.J., is an Information Management and Technology major and is also pursuing a minor in finance. A junior, Racine has been on the Athletic Director's Honor roll for every semester between fall 2017 and spring '19. A sprinter who competes in the 300m and 400m, Racine most recently took fifth in the 4x400 at the Cortland Classic Invitation last April. He's finished in the top-five five times in his career.

The ice hockey team is back in action this weekend when they host CHA foe Penn State Friday and Saturday at Tennity Ice Pavilion. It's Youth Weekend for the Orange and there will be a pizza giveaway. Friday will also mark the start of a tournament for EA Sports' NHL 20, the winner of which will receive a copy of the video game.

The track and field team head to the Southern Tier Collegiate Open in Ithaca, N.Y. this weekend. Orange athletes will compete in the 3000m, 60m hurdles, 60m dash, the mile, the 800m, the 1,000m, and the 4x400m relay.
