SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse returns to the SU Soccer Stadium to host Louisville on Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. The match is the final home game for the Orange this fall.

 If fans are permitted to attend games – in some capacity – Syracuse Athletics will announce plans for spectators to secure admission to the events. Fans will be required to sit in their socially-distanced seat locations and wear a face covering.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is coming off a 1-0 setback at Notre Dame on Sunday in South Bend. Notre Dame junior forward Jack Lynn finished on a corner kick from Paddy Burns to score the only goal of the match in the sixth minute.
Syracuse had its best scoring chance in the 44th minute when freshman Deandre Kerr won possession and passed to junior Hilli Goldhar, who was making a run at goal. Fighting Irish goalkeeper Keagan McLaughlin made the save to keep the Orange scoreless.
Syracuse controlled the game in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net. The 'Cuse saw its best chance in the final three minutes, however, McLaughlin rejected sophomore Abdi Salim's header with 34 seconds remaining to preserve the win for the Fighting Irish.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville (1-3, 1-1) notched its first and only win of the season, 2-1, against Notre Dame on Oct. 3.

Three different players have scored goals for the Cardinals this season, including Pedro Fonseca (3), Elijah Amo (1) and Bryce LeBel (1). Four different players have recorded assists.

Jake Gelnovatch returns between the posts this season, recording 10 saves in 378 minutes in goal. He has a 1.90 goals-against average and a .556 save percentage for the Cardinals.
Head coach John Michael Hayden returns for his second season. He became the first head coach to lead the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA wins in his first season and handed eventual national champion Georgetown its only loss in 2019.

THE SERIES
Friday's match will be the 16th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Louisville. Â The Cardinals have a 9-2-4 advantage in the series, but the teams have tied in three of the last five matches.

In the last meeting, the No. 20 Cardinals struggled to contain the Orange offense, but Louisville goalkeeper Jake Gelnovatch turned all seven shots away. The match ended in a 0-0 double overtime draw.
