Syracuse fell to #1 North Carolina on Thursday evening, and despite trailing in the first half of each contest, 'Cuse held the two top-ranked squads to a combined one goal in the second half.Â
COACH ADAMS SAYS
"I thought we did a much better job in the second half of playing to our identity. We did what works for us to be able to get quality chances."
On the team's participation in combating social injustice:
"I'm really proud of this team. They are very passionate about fighting injustices that we're seeing every single day. They have stuck together to make statements and I'm really proud of them for holding on to what's so important."
BLUE DEVILS STRIKE EARLY
Midfielder Maggie Graham got the scoring started for Duke eight minutes into the contest, and she was followed later in the period by senior Tess Boade. Both goals came off crosses from Mia Gyau, who collected her second and third assists on the year. Forward Olivia Migli rounded out the half for the Blue Devils with a strike from the top of the box for her second goal of the 2020 campaign. Syracuse entered the break trailing Duke, 3-0.
