Syracuse hosts long-time rival Boston College in an ACC match at the SU Soccer Stadium on October 22 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised on the ACC Network.
BREAKING THE ICE
Both squads are seeking their first victories of the pandemic-shortened fall season. Syracuse and Boston College have each logged five matches to date. The Orange and the Eagles each squared off with #1 North Carolina and #5 Duke last week.
THE SYRACUSE-BOSTON COLLEGE SERIES
The two programs have met 15 times previously. Boston College has a 9-4-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Eagles have won the two most recent pairings, including last year's 3-0 outcome in Newton. The first meeting between the two clubs was in 1996.
STARTING STREAK
Junior forward Meghan Root is slated to make her 30th consecutive start in the Boston College encounter. It's the longest active streak at Syracuse. Senior defender Shannon Aviza is making her 57th overall appearance with the first string. Aviza is three starts ahead of senior midfielder Mackenzie Vlachos.
PITTSBURGH CONTEST CANCELED
The scheduled match between Syracuse and Pittsburgh, slated for Sunday, Oct. 25, has been canceled. It will not be rescheduled this fall.
NEXT GAME
Syracuse travels to Miami for a Oct. 29 match. It will be played at 7:00 p.m. in Cobb Stadium.
