Opportunity Awaits

Saturday will be the seventh time in Syracuse football history the Orange face the No. 1 team in the country on the road when head coach Dino Babers leads his team on the field in Death Valley to face Clemson at Noon.
"You get an opportunity to play the #1 ranked team in the country," Babers said. "Whether you are injury-free or not, whether you are playing with all seniors or all freshman, you get an opportunity to compete. No one expects you to win outside the family, and to be able to compete in a situation like that, to measure up and see where you're at – we'll see."
This is the second-straight year Syracuse faces the Tigers when they're ranked atop the polls. Last season, Clemson earned a 41-6 win at the Loud House and held the Orange to two field goals.
Babers wants to see fight in his team this week. He discussed the difference between seeing a good football team and hearing one during his Monday morning press conference. In detail, he described the constant over communication that is needed on the field to the point that if someone is standing on the sidelines and closes their eyes, they can hear the football game. He wants to see that kind of fight in his team for Saturday's game at Clemson.
"I want to make sure that even though we are at the game, and our eyes are open, that we can close our eyes and make sure we are at a football game. That's what I mean by fight."
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
