Cooney Named Punter of the Week

Redshirt-senior punter Nolan Cooney pinned Liberty inside the 20 on each of his six punt attempts in Syracuse's most recent contest, earning him Ray Guy Punter of the Week honors.
Cooney averaged 46.5 yards per punt, with two sailing over 50 yards, and didn't surrender any return yards. Four of his six punts were downed inside the 10 yard line, and the one time Liberty attempted a return, the punt was fumbled on the catch and recovered by the Orange.
Cooney ranks seventh nationally with a punting average of 46.9 yards per punt on the season heading into Saturday's game vs. No. 1 Clemson.
