
Boateng, Boeheim Named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eunice Boateng (women's track & field) and Buddy Boeheim (men's basketball) are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 9.
Boateng, a native of Ajax, Ontario, studies psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences. The junior has earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor's Roll for the past three semesters. On the track, Boateng won the 60m at the 2019 Mark Deneault Invitational with a time of 7.14 seconds and the 60m at the 2019 Cornell Indoor Upstate Challenge with a time of 7.67 seconds.
The track & field team opens its outdoor season March 27 at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.
Boeheim, a Fayetteville, N.Y. native, is majoring in sport management at the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The sophomore guard's 15.3 points per game are the second-most on the team, and Boehiem leads the ACC in three-point shooting (36.8 percent). He's made 95 total three-pointers which is the eighth-most in a single season at Syracuse and 14th-most in the nation. Boeheim has started all 31 games this year and has had 11 20-point games.
The men's basketball team opens play in the 2020 Men's ACC Basketball Tournament Wednesday at 9 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C. as the six-seed against 14-seed North Carolina. Â
