Men's Lacrosse At Rutgers Will Occur As Scheduled Without Spectators

The Syracuse men's lacrosse game at Rutgers will occur as scheduled, but without spectators, Rutgers University announced.

PISCATAWAY - As everyone across the world continues to deal with the impact of COVID-19, the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff is our primary concern. We continue to seek advice so we can observe best practices and directives as set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and New Jersey Department of Health. Rutgers Athletics is taking the following steps beginning on Thursday, March 12, and proceeding through at least Friday, April 3.

All Rutgers University Athletics home competitions will take place as scheduled without spectators. Credentialed media will be accommodated.

Additionally, the Syracuse men's lacrosse Tri-State Weekend Kickoff Event in New York City that was scheduled for Friday has been postponed.

Hi Orange Family,

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the men's lacrosse Tri-State Weekend Kickoff Event in New York City on Friday, March 13. This is due to Rutgers University's decision to not allow spectators at Saturday's game and Syracuse University's decision to temporarily implement a protocol to cancel, postpone or conduct virtually any planned event where attendance will exceed 50 individuals due to health concerns. We will process refunds to all who registered and paid in the coming days.

We will work with Syracuse Lacrosse Alumni Network's (SLAN) leadership team to identify a date and plan for a similar event in the future. As we know, this event has helped SLAN build momentum. We look forward to working with you in the continued development of SLAN.
