Â
A veteran athletics administrator Frazier joined the Syracuse staff in 2011 as a deputy athletics director/chief of staff and was promoted to his current role in May 2016. Frazier oversees all internal operations, serves as the sport administrator for volleyball, softball and men's rowing, and is the secondary administrator for football and men's basketball.   Â
During his more than 40-year career as an athletics administrator, Frazier has worked at Arizona State, where he started his administrative career immediately upon graduation from ASU. He joined the Sun Devils staff as a graduate assistant for the track & field program in 1977. In 1979, he was appointed assistant director of events and facilities. During his 23-year tenure at ASU, Frazier moved up the ranks to the position of senior associate athletics director for business operations.
Â
Following his time at ASU, Frazier became the athletics director at UAB in 2000 before moving to Hawaii to serve as the athletics director from 2002 through 2008. Frazier returned to Philadelphia to become a member of the Temple University athletics department staff as the senior associate athletics director for sports administration from 2008 until he joined the Syracuse staff in 2011.
Â
From 1980 through 2004, Frazier served on various United States Olympic committees, including two stints as the U.S. Olympic Committee vice president from 1996 to 2004. In 2004, he was named Chef de Mission for the U.S. delegation at the Athens Olympics. Frazier presided over the most successful U.S. Olympic team in history, as the Americans won 103 medals.
Frazier is a current member of the NCAA Division I Track & Field Committee, representing both Syracuse University and the Atlantic Coast Conference. It's Frazier's second time serving on the committee, including a term as chairman from 1994-95 while at Arizona State.
Â
Frazier was named one of the Top 100 Athletes of All-Time by the NCAA in 2006, one of the Top 101 Minorities in Sports by Sports Illustrated in 2003 and 2004, and one of the 100 Most Influential Persons in Sports in the U.S. by The Sporting News in 2008. In 2012 he was honored with the Pioneer Award winner, honoring minority 'first' in athletics, as selected by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
