
Orange Announce 2020 Field Hockey Schedule

2020 Syracuse Field Hockey Schedule
Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse field hockey will again face a competitive group of opponents this fall. The schedule consists entirely of Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents with five games in Syracuse and five on the road.
'Cuse begins the 2020 campaign with home matchups against Duke on Sept. 18 and 20 before traveling to Charlottesville, Va., for two matches against Virginia on Oct. 2 and 4.
After returning home for a pair of games versus Boston College on Oct. 10 and 11, the Orange have a showdown in Chapel Hill, N.C., against two-time defending national champion UNC on Oct. 16 followed by a pair of games against Wake Forest on Oct. 18 and 19.
The regular season concludes at J.S. Coyne Stadium on Oct. 30 against Louisville. The Cardinals ended Syracuse's 2019 ACC Tournament run in a 1-0 loss in Chestnut Hill last year after the Orange beat them to end the regular season, 1-0, in Louisville the week before.
With five opponents that made the NCAA Tournament a season ago on this year's schedule, Syracuse has a challenging and competitive journey ahead leading to the 2020 ACC Tournament in Durham, N.C.
Syracuse finished the 2019 campaign 12-7 overall and 3-3 in the ACC while making its 11th NCAA tournament appearance in 12 years. The Orange return each of their top five scorers from the 2019 season, including NFHCA All-Americans Charlotte de Vries and Carolin Hoffmann while adding a promising freshman class.
Syracuse Athletics remains committed to doing everything it can to support and protect the health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes, our staff and the campus and Syracuse communities. All decisions will be science0based and informed by public health and guidance as provided by county, state and public health officials. If fans are permitted to attend games – in some capacity – Syracuse Athletics will announce plans for spectators to secure admission to the events. Fans will be required to sit in their socially-distanced seat locations and wear a face covering.
