PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Syracuse will take on Pittsburgh for the second time in 10 days when it visits the Petersen Events Center on Saturday, Jan. 16. Tip off is set for 12 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Sophomore Quincy Guerrier is back as Syracuse's (7-3, 1-2) top scorer after a 23-point performance at North Carolina on Tuesday night. He was 9-for-18 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line as he recorded 20-or-more points for the third time this season. Guerrier also pulled down 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. That total leads the ACC and ranks 13th in the nation.

Junior Buddy Boeheim also reached double figures in scoring against the Tar Heels with 18 points. In his last two games, Boeheim is 16-for-33 (.485) from the field, including 7-for-15 (.467) from 3-point range. He is averaging 15.6 points per game this season.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pittsburgh has not played since taking on the Orange on Jan. 6 as its games against Florida State and Georgia Tech were postponed. The Panthers enter Saturday's game with a 6-2 overall record, including a 2-1 mark in ACC play.

Au'Diese Toney and Xavier Johnson are averaging double figures in scoring for Pittsburgh. Toney averages 15.6 points per contest, while Johnson adds 14.1 points per game. Johnson leads the ACC in assists (5.38 apg.), while Toney is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game.

Jeff Capel is in his third season at the helm of the Pittsburgh program. Previously, the Duke graduate served as head coach at VCU and Oklahoma.

In the first meeting on Jan. 6 in the Carrier Dome, the Panthers used a 19-5 scoring run over the final 5:30 to record a 63-60 come-from-behind victory. Junior Alan Griffin led the Orange with 15 points and eight rebounds, while redshirt sophomore Robert Braswell added a career-high 12 points. Ithiel Horton scored 14 points for Pittsburgh, while Toney had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

The Orange will play four of their next five at home, starting Tuesday, Jan. 19 against Miami at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.
