SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse will play two top-20 teams in a span of three days, starting with No. 16/14 Virginia Tech on Saturday, Jan. 23. The teams will tip off at 12 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (8-4, 2-3) snapped a two-game losing streak with an 83-57 victory against Miami on Tuesday night. Junior Buddy Boeheim and sophomore Joseph Girard III each scored 23 points to lead the Orange. Combined, the two sharp shooters were 9-for-17 from 3-point range.

Kadary Richmond dished out a season-high eight assists. He also matched his personal best with five steals, helping the Orange to a 27-3 advantage in points off turnovers.

BOEHEIM HEATING UP
In his last four games, Boeheim is averaging 18.5 points per contest. He was 9-for-16 from the floor, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range, for a season-high 23 points against the Hurricanes. With his recent performances Boeheim's season scoring average is up to 16.0, which ranks 10th in the ACC.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech enters Saturday's game in second place in the ACC with a 5-1 record in conference play. The Hokies have won three in a row to improve their record to 11-2.

Keve Aluma is Virginia Tech's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 14.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He also has blocked a team-best 18 shots. Jalen Cone is the Hokies' biggest outside threat as he leads the ACC in 3-point field goals made (3.00 per game) and ranks second in 3-point field goal percentage (.390).

Mike Young is in his second season at the helm of the Virginia Tech program. In his first year, the Hokies posted a 16-16 overall record and a 7-13 mark in conference play. Prior to coming to Blacksburg, Young spent 17 years as the head coach at Wofford.

Syracuse leads the all-time series with Virginia Tech, 10-5. The squads split the two meetings last season, with both teams winning on the other's home court. The Hokies defeated Syracuse, 67-63, in the Dome before the Orange returned the favor with a 71-69 victory in Blacksburg. Boeheim led Syracuse with a career-high 26 points in the win.
