SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse closes out the month of January with a Sunday evening matchup against NC State in the Carrier Dome. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

The game will be televised on ACC Network and ACC Network Extra. Matt Park and Jim Satalin will call all the action on the Syracuse Sports Network from Learfield IMG College, including TK99/105 locally.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (9-5, 3-4) are coming off an 81-58 setback at No. 8 Virginia on Monday. The Orange play their next two games on their home court, where they are 8-1 this season. Most recently, Syracuse posted its first win against a ranked team this season, a 78-60 victory against then No. 16/14 Virginia Tech.

The Orange continue to rank among the league leaders in scoring offense. Syracuse is averaging 77.86 points per game, which is good for second place in the ACC behind Florida State's 79.25 points per contest. In addition, the Orange are second in the conference in field goal percentage defense (.400), fourth in scoring margin (+7.71) and second in free throw percentage (.793).

GIRARD III SHINES AGAINST WOLFPACK
Sophomore Joseph Girard III scored a career-high 30 points in last year's contest against NC State. Girard III scored 11 of his points from the free throw line, going 11-for-12 from the charity stripe. He wasn't the only freshman to stand out against the Wolfpack. Quincy Guerrier scored a season-high 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his second career double-double.

SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
NC State is coming off a 72-67 victory against Wake Forest on Wednesday, which improved its record to 7-5 overall, 3-4 in ACC action. The Wolfpack have played just twice since Jan. 13 as they had games against Georgia Tech and Virginia postponed.

Leading scorer Devon Daniels will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in Wednesday's game against the Demon Deacons. In addition to scoring 16.5 points per game, the senior guard also led the Wolfpack in assists and steals. D.J. Funderburk and Jericole Hellems are NC State's other double-digit scorers, averaging 11.9 and 11.8 points per game, respectively.

Kevin Keatts is in his fourth year at the helm of the NC State program. He has guided the Wolfpack to 20 or more wins in each of his first three seasons. Previously, Keatts served as the head coach at UNC-Wilmington.

Syracuse holds a narrow 7-6 advantage in the all-time series with NC State. The Wolfpack have won the last three meetings between the two schools, including last year's meeting in Syracuse. Daniels scored 23 points to lead NC State to a 79-74 victory.
