Syracuse running back Sean Tucker earned ACC Running Back of the Week for his play against Wake Forest this past weekend.
The second-year freshman carried the ball 26 times for 153 yards and two scores on the ground, and also caught the game-tying 28-yard touchdown that sent the squad to overtime in Syracuse's 40-37 loss to then No. 19 Wake Forest.
Tucker has bee consistently one of the top running backs in the nation thus far and is on the Maxwell and Doak Walker Award Watch Lists. He ranks second nationally with 791 rushing yards, second with 131.8 yards per game and is the national leader in all-purpose yards (165.83).
Through six games, he's tracking on a number of 'Cuse records. At this point in the season, he's got the second-most yards of and Orange back. Just Joe Morris (827) had more through six games when he set the program's single-season rushing record with 1,372 yards in 1979. Tucker also is one 100+ yard game away from tying the program record for most-consecutive games over the century mark, which is currently held by Curtis Brinkley. With 11 total touchdowns, he's just three away from breaking into the program's top-10 for scores in a single season.
Tucker and the Orange return to action on Friday night when Clemson visits the Dome. It'll be an Orange Out and the team will honor the life and legacy of Floyd Little at halftime. Visit cuse.com/tickets or call 888-DOME-TIX to purchase tickets. Click here for Syracuse's current public health guidelines and expectations for attendees.
