NEWTON, MASS. – In a back and forth defensive battle, the Orange lost to the Boston College Eagles, 1-0. BC scored a goal in the final six minutes of the game for the win.
"It was a good performance in a tough environment," said head coach Ian McIntyre. "Unfortunately, their goal was their only shot on target all night. It was a hard-fought battle, and we just didn't come away with a result."
The score was 0-0 until the 84th minute when Eagles' senior midfielder Kristofer Konraddson carried the ball down the field and scored the only goal of the game to give Boston College (5-5-2 overall, 1-3-2 ACC) the 1-0 win. Syracuse (7-6-2, 1-4-1) out-shot the Eagles 7-3 and had the advantage in corner kicks, 11-1.
