Kanapatskaya Advances at ITA Super Regional

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Syracuse sophomore Viktoriya Kanapatskaya posted a come-from-behind victory in singles action on the first day of the ITA Northeast Regional in Princeton, N.J. After losing the first set, Kanapatskaya rallied to record a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory against Rachel Arbitman from Harvard. She will be in action again on Saturday at 9 a.m. against Princeton's Neha Velaga.

In a rematch of a singles match at the ITA Northeast Regional, Princeton's Maia Sung defeated Orange freshman Shiori Ito, 7-5, 6-3. Ito and fellow frosh Miyuka Kimoto lost their opening doubles match in the Super Regional to a Veronica Kulhava and Jamie Wei from Temple, 6-2, 6-4.
