
Kanapatskaya Falls at ITA All-American Championship

Syracuse's Viktoriya Kanapatskaya fell in a three-set battle to Duke's Kelly Chen, 3-6 6-2 6-1, on Thursday in Charleston, S.C. at the ITA All-American Championships.

Kanpatskaya got off to good start, winning the first set, 6-3. However, Chen fought back to take the second set, 6-2 and won the deciding third set, 6-1. Chen, a four-time ITA All-American, will face off against Furman's Julia Adams in the next stage of the tournament.

The Orange's fall campaign rolls on from Oct. 14-17 with the ITA Super Regional tournament. Freshmen Miyuka Kimoto and Shiori Ito will compete in doubles at Princeton after a successful trip to the ITA Northeast Regionals where the duo won their draw. In addition, Ito will compete in singles. The 'Cuse will compete against northeast foes including Harvard, Yale, and Boston College.
