Orange Take Down Dolphins in Exhibition Finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- Joseph Girard III had a game-high 20 points and nine assists and Syracuse never trailed in a 90-50 exhibition win against Division II Le Moyne on Monday night in the Dome.
Syracuse had five players in double digit scoring: Girard (20), Cole Swider (18), Buddy Boeheim (11), Jimmy Boeheim (11) and Benny Williams (11).
WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Syracuse took control of the game early on after a 14-0 run that Buddy Boeheim keyed with a set of threes. The stretch, which lasted 2:24, put Syracuse ahead 19-4 and the Dolphins never got within 10 points of the Orange after that.

"There's a lot that can help us from tonight," said head coach Jim Boeheim. "We can use the tape and the experience tonight to help us get ready for our next game. The guys have done everything we've asked them to do, and I think we're in a good position going forward."

SHOOTING THREES
Joe Girard III ignited the Orange offense following a back and forth initial drive. Girard hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark a 21-8 run. Both Girard and Buddy Boeheim notched two 3-pointers each and Cole Swider recorded one of his own. Five buckets from outside the arc accounted for 15 of the 21 points.

ORANGE OUT-SWIM THE DOLPHINS
After Le Moyne guard Nino Hernandez opened the second half with a 3-pointer, Syracuse answered with 17 straight points to secure a 16-point lead. Swider lead the offensive spark with eight of the 17 points.

The Orange outscored the Dolphins 49-25 in the second half, making the final score 90-50.
