'Cuse Finishes Fall Season Strong at Princeton Chase

Syracuse placed two varsity eight crews and all three coxed four crews in the top-10 of their respective categories at the Princeton Chase, the final fall race of the season for the Orange.Â
Syracuse's varsity eight A crew, with Laurence Joss sitting stroke, was second overall behind Princeton A with a time of 12:26.983Â down the three-mile course. Syracuse's B team, coxed by Mark Ezaki and stroked by Sam Hobson with Finn Conlon sitting bow, was seventh in 13:02.261. The two other Orange crews placed 18th and 32nd overall.Â
Syracuse's V8+ beat top crews from Navy, Wisconsin and Yale who rounded out the top-5.Â
In the second round of eights at noon, Syracuse's only crew in the race placed seventh overall.
The Orange dominated the men's coxed fours event placing all three Syracuse crews in the top-5. Syracuse's A crew, coxed by Bricen Nygaard was the only boat to finish in sub-14 with a time of 13:58.892 and had nearly a two second lead on the second place team, Princeton's A four. The Tigers took second and third while Syracuse B and C finished back-to-back to wrap up the top-5.Â
Syracuse concludes its fall season which featured top-10 boat finishes at both the Head of the Charles and this weekend's Princeton Chase.Â
