Syracuse (5-4 overall, 1-0 ACC) takes on one of its most familiar opponents, Georgetown (4-4) on Saturday, Dec. 11. Tip off in the nation's capital is set for 12:00 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange look to bounce back after a 67-53 loss to #6 Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday. Although the Wildcats' defense held the Orange offense to its lowest scoring outing of the season, Jimmy Boeheim posted another double-digit scoring performance. The graduate forward recorded 21 points, connecting on 10 of 19 (.526) shots from the field.Â
Georgetown is coming off a 100-71 victory against UMBC on Wednesday. The Hoyas' offense was solid from all areas on the court, shooting 39-78 (.500) from the field and 13-23 (.565) from beyond the arc as a team.Â

The Orange and the Hoyas meet for the 97th time in the history of the series. The Orange lead 52-44 with the most recent game resulting in a 74-69 Syracuse win on Jan. 9, 2021. The two teams have a history that dates back to 1930.
ORANGE LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK
Despite the loss to the Wildcats on Tuesday, several members of the Orange contributed strong performances. Jimmy Boeheim tallied his eighth, double-digit scoring outing and second game with 20 points or more this season. Joseph Girard III produced a solid shooting game as he went 4-7 (.571) from the paint and 3-5 (.600) from outside the arc. Cole Swider had another career game with a personal best of 10 defensive rebounds. He also tied his career high of 12 rebounds overall and tallied a career high of three blocks.
RICE TO ADD RECORDS
Graduate guard Kaiden Rice had a standout performance for the Hoyas in their game against UMBC on Wednesday. He shattered the school's single game 3-point field goal record with 10Â buckets beyond the arc, surpassing the previous record of seven. Rice totaled a career best of 34 points with his 10 triples and also recorded three rebounds and three assists.Â
