Q&A with Buddy Boeheim
2/19/2021 11:45:00 AM | Men's Basketball
As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Notre Dame in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Feb. 20 (2 p.m., ACC Network), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with junior guard Buddy Boeheim!
What is different about your game from a year ago?
I'm trying to be more aggressive, get in the lane offensively, and be more than just an outside shooter.
What has been the most difficult challenge the team has faced during the pandemic?
Playing through quarantines and trying to stay focused. Missing two weeks and coming back while trying to maintain that same focus and energy. It's been especially challenging without our fans – we've had to try to generate our own energy.
How have you kept up with classes and adjusted to virtual instruction?
The teachers have been really understanding and have offered to meet on zoom if you feel you are falling behind a bit. I try to stay focused on school work and get the work done ahead of time.
You are a big Tom Brady fan. Did your support go with him to Tampa Bay?
Tom Brady's my favorite athlete. It's hard not to go and root for them especially with "Gronk" there as well. Tampa Bay is definitely my favorite team now.
Did you enjoy the Super Bowl?
It was awesome. It was probably my favorite one being able to watch him. This year and then the comeback against Atlanta. He showed he could do it with another team and that he wasn't just a "system" quarterback. It added to his legacy as the greatest quarterback ever.
