ACC takes the top-four spots
Syracuse checks in at No. 4 in the USILA Poll this week, which is headlined by the top-four teams in the nation and five of the top-seven coming from the ACC.
The Orange were the lone team in the top-four to not begin their season yet, with No. 1 Duke (307 points/9 first-place votes) playing and winning both games this past weekend, followed by North Carolina (302 points/4 first-place votes) and Virginia (276 points/2 first-place votes), who both collected wins. The Orange (269 points/1 first-place vote) sit right ahead of Maryland (264 points).
Notre Dame checks in at No. 7 to lock in the entirety of the ACC inside the top-seven.
Given the ACC's six-game scheduling model this year, the Orange a road trip scheduled against No. 1 Duke, a home date with No. 2 North Carolina and home and homes with No. 3 Virginia and No. 7 Notre Dame on the docket this season. 'Cuse will also face No. 12 Army in its season opener, setting up a gauntlet of a slate this season.
Faceoff for the season opener against the Black Knights is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
