Sophomore Abby Casiano each had seven kills and senior Ella Saada and redshirt sophomore Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk each had six in Syracuse's 3-0 loss at Florida State on Thursday. The Orange (7-8 overall) will play the Seminoles again on Friday, April 2, in a second match that is taking the place of a match originally schedule against NC State which was cancelled due to COVID-19 contact tracing and quarantining among NC State's tier-one personnel.
In the first set, Lokhmanchuk tied the score at 10 with a kill before FSU (13-5, 9-5) used a 6-1 run to open up a 16-11 lead en route to the 25-16 win. Syracuse took an 8-7 lead early in the second set on a kill by sophomore Izzy Plummer and then FSU went on a 12-3 run on the way to the 25-14 win. The Seminoles won the match with a 25-13 third set victory.
Plummer finished with five kills, while sophomore Lauren Woodford had a team-best 14 assists and freshman Lauren Hogan led the team with eight digs.
