HUNTINGTON, W.V. – Syracuse tennis closed out its regular season with a dominant win over Marshall at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center Sunday. The Orange took the doubles point and never looked back as they defeated The Herd, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After they dropped No. 1 doubles, the Orange secured the doubles point with wins in match No. 2 and No. 3. In match two, Natalie Novotna and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya defeated Anna Smith and Jutte Van Dankanych, 6-4, and in No. 3 doubles, Miranda Ramirez and Guzal Yusupova took down Madi Ballow and Madison Riley, 6-4.

Syracuse took the momentum into singles and swiftly secured the victory. To start it off, 14th-ranked Kanapatskaya defeated Smith, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for her 10th win of the year. Novotna posted a 6-2, 6-1, victory over Ballow in No. 3 singles before Zeynep Erman beat Jutte Van Hansewyck, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5.

The remaining matches were played out and Syracuse took two of the three. Polina Kozyreva defeated Madison Riley, 6-2, 6-1 on court 6, and Yusupova recorded a victory at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 10-3.
