Shalexxus Aaron Joins the Orange

Shalexxus Aaron, a 6-foot-1 guard from Apple Valley, Calif., has signed a financial aid agreement with Syracuse and plans to join the Syracuse women's basketball team for the 2021-22 season. Aaron, spent the past three seasons at the University of Southern California where she shot 42.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range.Â
Aaron was sidelined by injury for her true freshman season with the Trojans. She returned to the court for the 2018-19 season where she appeared in 29 games and earned seven starts. She averaged 6.6 points per game and shot an impressive 43.1 percent from the field as a redshirt freshman. She had a career-high 28 points against Washington on Feb. 1, 2019 and was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for her efforts.Â
Aaron did not compete during the 2019-20 season due to injury but served as team captain.Â
After missing the first 11 games this season, Aaron returned to action on Jan. 17 against UC Riverside. She appeared in 12 games and averaged 21.6 minutes per game off the bench for the Trojans. Aaron scored in double figures three times including a 16-point performance against Utah on Feb. 14.Â
Aaron finished her career averaging 6.6 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game and shot 42.2 percent from beyond the arc.Â
