4/29/2021 9:00:00 AM | General
Syracuse Athletics invites former student athletes to participate in Orange Team Challenge (April 26 to May 2, 2021), a week where alumni support their sport in a friendly competition. During this weeklong contest, former student-athletes can earn up to four points for their team by engaging in fun activities, including:Â
Orange Team Challenge includes a virtual 5K. Alumni are encouraged to run, walk or row anywhere in the world and post their time to the leaderboard on the official 5K mobile app, DIEMlife. Those who participate in the virtual 5K will receive an exclusive Orange Team Challenge t-shirt.
Â
During Orange Team Challenge, sports are competing based on the highest percentage of participation points received. The top three sports will receive an additional $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500 toward their team's head coaches' fund, respectively.
Â
The goal of Orange Team Challenge is to create a level playing field where every former student-athlete can make an impact on their sport and show their Orange pride while supporting current student-athletes. Alumni from legacy sports can give back to student-athletes by directing their gift to the 'Cuse Athletics Opportunity Fund.
Â
Contributions from former student-athletes allow Syracuse Athletics to recruit, retain, and develop student-athletes and coaches who can build and sustain championship programs in every sport.
