Continuing his breakout year after an All-American collegiate season and one of the best rookie campaigns in the PLL to date, Stephen Rehfuss will represent Team USA on their training camp roster for sixes.
Rehfuss concluded his Syracuse career 25th all-time among Orange players with 188 career points and his 110 assists rank ninth all-time. Rehfuss was drafted in the fourth round of the PLL Draft by the Cannons this spring.
A USILA Honorable Mention All-American this season, Rehfuss was a Tewaaraton Award Semifinalist, USILA Scholar All-American, three-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and recipient of the Doris Soladay Award, which is Syracuse's highest honor, in his career.
In the first-seven games of is professional career, he has 18 points on 19 shots, by way of nine goals and nine assists. He has been a key contributor for the Cannons this season to date, including a career-best five point game in his last outing, which came in a win over the Atlas.
Formally known as World Lacrosse Sixes, It is a fast-paced version of the sport played on a smaller field and with fewer players. Sixes will be the format used for lacrosse at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama. The hope is the International Olympic Committee adopts the sport for the 2028 games in Los Angeles after it was granted provisional status in 2018.
