
Orange Honored For Success in the Classroom

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse women's lacrosse enjoyed success on the field and in the classroom in 2021. The Orange are an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad and 15 student-athletes are members of the IWLCA Honor Roll.

Syracuse is one of more than 300 schools across Divisions I, II and III as well as NAIA that posted a 3.2 team GPA or higher for the academic year. Graduate student Lila Nazarian highlights a group of 15 Orange juniors, seniors and graduate students who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in 2020-21. That list includes Morgan Alexander, Mackenzie Baker, Megan Carney, Sarah Cooper, Vanessa Costantino, Kerry Defliese, Emily Ehle, Grace Fahey, Braelie Kempney, Alex Marino, Cara Quimby, Ella Simkins, Ally Trice and Morgan Widner.

In addition, 37 of the 46 members of the squad earned a spot on Syracuse's Athletic Director's Honor Roll (minimum 3.0 GPA) for the spring semester, including 27 that posted a 3.5 GPA or higher.

On the field, the Orange posted a 17-4 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament title game for the third time in program history.
