Freshman Francesco Pagano gave the Orange a 1-0 advantage in the 37th minute of the first half in a rain-shortened exhibition match. With 6:30 remaining in the opening half the game was stopped due to lightning and was later cancelled due to weather.

The Orange outshot Siena 9-2 in the first 39 minutes. Syracuse goalkeeper Russell Shealy recorded one save.

Syracuse will travel to Rutgers for an exhibition match on Saturday, August 21 at 7 pm.
