Twelve Orange Earn ACC Academic Honors

A program-record of twelve student-athletes from the Syracuse University women's rowing team earned 2021 All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Academic Team honors, including seven members of the varsity eight.

Graduate student Lucy Pearce (nutrition science major) leads the Orange making her fifth appearance on the All-ACC Academic Team. Seniors Christie Castorino (psychology) and Josie Kiesel (sport management) earned their fourth honor, while Grace Asch (television, radio, and film), Emma Braun (finance and marketing management), and Meg Varcoe (chemical engineering) made the team for the third time in their careers. Luisa Gathmann (human development and family science), Hannah Murphy (bioengineering), Louise Rath (broadcast and digital journalism), and Haley Uliasz (sport management) earn the honor for the second time. Lea Dahn (international relations) and Maddy Horridge (intercollegiate advising and support certificate of advanced study) earned the honor for the first time in their Syracuse careers.

The 2020-21 Orange had their best performance in program history, finishing 10th at the NCAA Championship and 11th in the final national ranking.
