#14 Orange Begin ACC Play Friday at #3 Boston College

No. 14 Syracuse travels to No. 3 Boston College for the first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponent of the season Friday in Chestnut Hill, Ma. Game time is set for 5 p.m. on ACC Network.Â
The Orange are coming off a 1-1 week in which they lost to No. 8 Rutgers 3-2 in overtime but bounced back with a 5-3 road win at No. 12 UConn. Quirine Comans is this week's ACC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and adding an assist during that stretch. Friday's game is the third of five-straight road games for the Orange.Â
Boston College is a perfect 6-0 this season. Of those six games, three have been against nationally-ranked opponents including a close 1-0 win over UConn at home. BC had an ACC-best three players named to the Preseason All-ACC Team including goalkeeper Jonna Kennedy who has a 1.5 goals against average and a 4-0 record this season.Â
The last time the two teams met was during the spring portion of the 2020 season. The Eagles earned a 2-1 double overtime win on April 10. Syracuse is 24-10 all-time against BC but the two are 2-2 in their last four meetings with Boston College having won the last three games played on their home turf.Â
Following Friday's game at Boston College, Syracuse continues its five-game road stretch Wednesday, Sept. 22 with a 4 p.m. game at Cornell and finished the month of September with a 1 p.m. game at UPenn in Philadelphia on Sept. 26. The Orange will host No. 6 North Carolina at J.S. Coyne Stadium on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. on ACC Network.Â
