SERIES HISTORY
• Friday's game is the third all-time meeting between Syracuse and Liberty.Â
• The squads have split the first two meetings, which were both won by the road team.
• The Orange traveled to Lynchburg, Va. to face the Flames in the 2019 season opener. The Orange came out on top, 24-0, for their first away-game shutout since 1991 at Tulane (24-0).
• Last season, Liberty was the only non-conference foe for the Orange. The Flames posted a 38-21 win in the Carrier Dome.
LAST TIME VS. LIBERTY
• Liberty scored three unanswered touchdowns to break a 14-14 tie in a 38-21 victory over the Orange last season in the Carrier Dome.
• Syracuse RB Sean Tucker recorded the first 100-yard rushing game of his career in the setback. He finished with 111 yards on 21 carries.
• The Flames also had a 100-yard rusher as Shedro Louis ran for 170 ards and two TDs on 10 attempts.

• Friday's game is 'Cuse's final non-conference contest of the season. The Orange open the year with four-straight games against non-conference opponents for the first time since 2017.
• The game will air on ACC Network, with Drew Carter '19 (PxP), Bobby Carpenter (analyst) and Taylor Davis (reporter) on the call. It marks the third time in four weeks that a Syracuse alum has served as the play-by-play announcer for television broadcast.
• Syracuse will play its second night game of the season. The Orange are 8-7 in night games (6 p.m. start or later) in the Dino Babers era.

• Syracuse is ranked fourth in the nation and leads the ACC in total defense after holding its last two opponents to less than 200 yards of total offense. The Orange are giving up just 225.3 yards per game.Â
• Syracuse limited Rutgers to just 195 yards of total offense before holding UAlbany to 135 yards. The Great Danes finished with just seven rushing yards on 32 attempts.
• The Orange hadn't held an FBS opponent to less than 200 yards of total offense since 2014 in a win against Wake Forest (170 yards), and has now given up less than 200 yards in back-to-back games.
