
Kanapatskaya to Compete at ITA All-American Championship

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse standout sophomore Viktoriya Kanapatskaya has been selected to take part in the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's All-American Championship by LTP. The tournament will run October 4-10, in Charleston, S.C.

The reigning All-American and ITA Northeast Region Rookie of the Year was named one of 21 automatic qualifiers into the tournament's main draw. The field is made up of the nation's best, with all returning All-Americans set to compete. Eight qualifiers, eight at-large selections and wild card selections comprise the rest of the field. Kanapatskaya is the lone automatic qualifier from the Northeast region.

Syracuse's Gabriela Knutson last represented the program in the prestigious tournament in 2018.Â
Kanapatskaya will look to build on her successful rookie campaign when she ended the year ranked No. 20 with a 12-6 singles record.

Women's main draw singles play begins Wednesday, October 6. Draws and match schedules are to be announced. The 2021 ITA Women's All-American Championships will take place at LTP Mount Pleasant.
