
PRs Set at John Thomas Terrier Invite

The Syracuse track and field team saw its distance runners race for the first time in the new year on Friday night at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational.
With nearly 150 athletes racing in the women's mile, Annie Boos was near the top of a deep field, taking 13th overall (seventh among collegians), in a time of 4:45.34. It shaved two seconds off her previous collegiate best mark from her time at Cal. Teammate Abigail Spiers was not far off, finishing in 4:52.09, which was good for 19th.
Emma Eastman (4:55.06) and Justus Holden-Betts (4:59.95) turned in PRs in the event as well, while Shona McCulloch (5:10.97) and Olivia Joly (5:13.09) also competed for the Orange.
Ellie Lawler also posted a personal best when she took 14th in the 5k, finishing in 17:05.14. Reilly Zink (17:17.83) was four places back, while Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (17:39.60) and Emily Nugent (17:48.25) also turned in solid performances for 'Cuse.
In the 3k, Emily Lane led the Orange with a 33rd-place finish, while teammate Sydney Nowicki finished 46th. The event field featured 110 competitors.
Sage Brooks finished 15th in the women's 1,000-meters with a time of 2:56.03, while fellow freshman Bethany Steiner was five places behind in 3:00.16.
'Cuse continues action on Saturday at the Kane Invitational (Cornell), before the men's distance group returns to action in Boston on Sunday.
